It's been a long time since I laughed in a movie as much as I did during Bridesmaids. Not only is Kristen Wiig a comedic genius (a long established fact) who is brilliant in this movie, but her character has an amazing wardrobe. It's rare to see a movie character wearing such stylish, current clothing and pieces that look like they came from a real woman's closet. I loved the small details, like how she always had red nail polish and wore the same jewelry throughout the entire film- a delicate gold necklace with a small pendant, skinny gold rings on a few different fingers, and a bracelet on her left wrist. The stripes, summer dresses paired with various blazers, comfy tops and jeans are all perfect, and I've been finding myself blatantly copying some her outfits this week. Here are some pieces to achieve a similar look:
- Bracelet from Asos
- Blazer from Theory
- Striped top from J.Crew
- Sweatshirt from Target
- Earrings from Fred Flare
- Rings from Madewell
- Floral sundress from AE
- Black blazer from J.Crew
- Gingham dress from Ruche
- Initial necklace from Fred Flare
- Striped dress from J.Crew
- Jeans from AE
- Essie nail polish in lollipop
To summarize- Kristen Wiig is amazing, and you have to see Bridesmaids not only for the hilarity and great story but also for the clothes.
Oh and in case you haven't seen yet- J.Crew just released their June 2011 catalogue and it's almost too good to be true. It always makes my day (okay let's be honest- week) when their new catalogue comes out every month :)
Have a nice weekend and Canadians- have a great May 2-4!
