The series of events is simple and predictable: I see tons of cool chicks in lookbooks, on blogs, and in real life and that inspire me with their clothing and styling, and I start to get really excited about getting dressed the next day. When the morning comes, my mind is devoid of any and all outfit ideas. I am now going to make sure to collect photos of my favourite looks and stylish ladies, which will hopefully help stop this problem (and maybe start drinking coffee before getting dressed).
You can't beat that late August/ almost back to school feeling. I'm getting excited to take out all of my favourite fall pieces, while still trying to fit in as many lake days as possible. Seems like varsity jackets aren't going anywhere, as they're still a fall classic. These are some of the ones I like right now, and I'm sure we'll be seeing more as autumn collections keep rolling out. Photo of me last October by my friend Taryn.
I spent some time in the J.Crew on Robson St. in Vancouver earlier this week, checking out their latest arrivals. It's a really strong collection, with lots of interesting pieces to start adding to outfits as we move towards fall. A big standout was the paneled stripe dress, which is my dream dress come to life (black and white stripes, comfortable year-round knit, and super flattering cut)!
Dressy shorts have been great for me this summer: easy on hot days, for work or otherwise. Also, I can't recommend this Aerie bralette enough. It's so hard to find pretty, comfortable wireless bras but this one is an ace!
