Boat shoes

This past weekend I went thrifting with my cousin and her best friend, who found these amazing men's boat shoes for I think about $7.99. Amazing. They are both such stylish young ladies, I was so inspired by the things they were finding! I have never been that into boat shoes, but they are being done in some really cool ways lately. After seeing these off-white ones being worn so well I think I may start searching for my own pair. I love them with light denim. 

I love both of these fresh takes on the classic preppy shoes. These on the left are a collaboration between Sperry Top-Sider and J.Crew. The ones on the right are metallic boat shoes by Sperry Top-Sider. They're both affordable and would be comfortable, versatile, and unique for summer. What do you think of them? 

By the way, Coachella was an amazing experience- particularly Mumford & Sons and Arcade Fire. Such an incredible and memorable weekend. 

Packing for Coachella

Tomorrow I'm heading down to California and making my way to the Coachella Music Festival with my brother and one of my best friends. Kings of Leon, Arcade Fire, Mumford & Sons, Kanye, The Black Keys... and that's just the beginning. I'm so excited, I've been looking forward to this forever! Packing has been challenging, as the weather is going to be in the mid-30s, and we're camping. Sweltering heat, long days and nights, and lack of showers presents a very unique packing problem. I'm opting for simple outfits and clothes that will keep me cool and comfortable, and a hat and sunglasses to protect my winter pale skin from the desert sun. Pond's cleansing and makeup removing cloths and Tresemme waterless foam shampoo will hopefully(!) be good showering substitutes. I'll be keeping makeup minimal with items like my favourite Stila compact blush. And a cross-body bag will be great and out of my way. Should be a very interesting weekend...

I've been seeing so many lovely stripey images lately, and they made me want to wear my favourite striped dress yesterday...as if I needed more incentive to wear stripes.

I've been busy finishing up with school- come Friday I will be done my entire university career. Crazy.

Have you seen this trailer? It completely made my day. I haven't been this excited for a movie in a long time...I completely love Steve Carell and Ryan Gosling...for different reasons though. I'm sure you understand.
